Jens Bogren has been one of my favorite producers for decades. He’s behind some of my favorite albums from bands I still listen to constantly, and for a long time, his studio was basically a reference point for what “great” looked like to me.
A lot of my early taste in gear came from seeing photos of what he was using. That led to me buying way-too-expensive gear for my budget at the time, with absolutely no idea how to use half of it. Not the most efficient way to learn, but it definitely shaped how I think about tone.
That same mindset shows up in Bogren Digital’s plugins. The AmpKnob series in particular is built around the idea of getting you to a finished sound fast, without overthinking it. They’re simple on the surface, but the tones are dialed. The included IRs are also very high quality, even if I still prefer to make my own.
